IN PERSON: This course offers an exclusive opportunity to explore the artworks and homes of seven generous art collectors who will offer a rare glimpse into their vibrant and inspiring art collections. Students will gain insight into the world of art collecting while experiencing an impressive range of artworks spanning contemporary, midcentury, classic, folk, and primitive genres. We will view two new collections and revisit five that have new additions. Each visit will be led by the collector, who will offer insights and information about their curated selections. Expect to see works by more than 200 nationally and internationally acclaimed artists, including Robert Motherwell, Patrick Dougherty, Devorah Sperber, Sandra Campbell, Vivian Maier, Kehinde Wiley, Chris Roberts-Antieau, Jane Filer, Robert Rauschenberg, Dale Chihuly, and Mickalene Thomas, as well as by many artists from North and South Carolina.
