Course Description

How is sound produced in your headphones, cellphone or tablet? How is electrical energy involved in the process? Electrical engineers use hands-on design and problem-solving to innovate many of the devices we use every day. Learn about electrical circuits, acoustics (sound), audio and other important topics in electrical engineering.

Experience what it is like to be an electrical engineer through hands-on activities and behind-the-scenes access to Duke University resources and the Pratt School of Engineering’s Electrical and Computer Engineering labs. Investigate the industry and research opportunities in music and audio engineering. Discover the skills used by electrical engineers by assembling audio equipment, constructing circuits such as an amplifier and building your own loudspeaker!

The electrical devices of the future will revolutionize how we experience and interact with the world around us. Could you be one of the electrical engineers designing our future?
