Course Description

IN PERSON: This 10-week series explores how the ancient philosophy of yoga sheds light on our modern experiences. Each week, we'll focus on a specific limb of yoga from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, such as moral observances (yama), personal observances (niyama), postures (asana), gestures (mudra), breath control (pranayama), sense withdrawal (pratyahara), focus (dharana), meditation (dhyana), and yoga nidra. By engaging in both physical and subtle practices, participants will see how dedicated practice can strengthen the mind-body connection and promote physical comfort, mental tranquility, compassion, and deep self-awareness. This is not a traditional yoga class; however, home practice videos will be offered for both chair yoga and beginning yoga levels. | Lecture + Q&A, Active Skill Learning.
