Course Description

You're Invited

Join us for one of OLLI at Duke’s signature events - our Spring Speaker & Social - as we discuss Moral AI and How We Get There with Walter Sinnot-Armstrong, Ph.D, Chancey Stillman Distinguished Professor of Practical Ethics, and Joe Salem, Rita DiGiallonardo Holloway University Library.

Artificial Intelligence is reshaping nearly every corner of our lives - from medicine and law to education and arts. Yet these innovations raise pressing ethical questions: How can AI reflect human values? What safeguards can ensure it serves society responsibly? Join us as we explore the intersection of ethics, technology, and community in a university-wide and human-centered view of how we might create "moral AI."

Attendees are encouraged to read Moral AI and How We Get There in advance, especially Chapter 6, which introduces key ideas that will shape the conversation. You can pickup a signed bookplate for your copy at the event.

Come early to enjoy refreshments and connection with fellow OLLI members before the conversation begins at 10:30 a.m.
