IN PERSON: Did you know that Triangle continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) have waitlists that span from four to 15 years? With the influx of retired people into the Triangle, the demand for CCRC spots has grown, leading to long wait times. Likewise, competition to hire competent in-home care for those who choose to age in place is fierce. Through expert speakers and class lectures, we will explore options for continued independence as aging progresses and life-care needs change. We'll consider the suitability of your home and your community for aging in place, and various options for home care services. Our focus will be on aging in place and retirement communities. | Lecture + Q&A.
Max enrollment: 25.
Location: JRC, 1933 W Cornwallis Rd., Durham, NC 27707
Please Note: This course does not include the tours of the CCRCs. Members are welcome to book visits with these communities on their own.
