Downtown Durham has more layers than most people realize — and this tour peels back a few of them. Join OLLI instructor David Stein for a one-mile walk through the hidden history of the city, with stops that combine storytelling, the Hidden Durham mobile app (audio, video, and games woven into the streets themselves), and a rare chance to experience the new augmented reality sculptures currently taking shape on one of our downtown blocks. (They're being "built" in AR — which is either the future of public art or a very elaborate magic trick. Possibly both.)
The route covers about a mile with two sets of stairs along the way.
The starting location will be sent via email to registered participants.
Public parking in downtown Durham is free on Memorial Day.
