IN PERSON: This workshop invites participants to explore environmental portraiture from a deeply personal perspective: home. Whether it is thought of as a physical dwelling or a space of belonging and identity, home offers a rich context for meaningful portrait work. Participants will photograph their friends and family, bringing together place, presence, and personal history. How do photographs tell stories, embrace memories, create new ones? Each week, images will be shared and discussed in a collaborative, supportive assessment. A class session off-site will be used to explore how location shapes both the photographer and the subject. Through hands-on assignments and guided discussion, participants will learn to build trust with their subjects, use light and the environment to carry emotional weight, and create lasting visual gifts for their families and future generations.
