IN PERSON: Have you ever dreamed of publishing your own writing? Do you have a memoir, novel, collection of family stories, or even a book of recipes you have always wanted to print and share with loved ones? It's possible to create beautiful books yourself with some design training and readily available online tools. Students in this course will learn the basics of book design, typography, and cover design through a guided reading of "The Non-Designer's Design Book," fourth edition, by Robin Williams. The instructor will then lead students through the process of laying out a book interior, designing a cover, and navigating a chosen publication platform to produce a book. Students will finish the course with a published work in hand or a print-ready manuscript to publish in the future along with new knowledge of the publishing process and industry. | Active Skill Learning.
