Climate Up Close brings working climate scientists into communities across the country to explain the scientific consensus clearly and directly, without partisanship or policy prescriptions. Their goal is to move the climate conversation beyond both denialism and fatalism, giving participants an opportunity to examine the evidence and ask their questions directly of researchers in the field.
The program begins with a 45-minute presentation mapping the current landscape of climate knowledge, sorting impacts like heat waves, sea level rise, and hurricanes along a spectrum from well understood to genuinely uncertain.
Following the talk, there will be an extended Q&A and time to chat with the scientists one-on-one.
