IN PERSON: It is not widely known that many contemporary artists used photography to inform and expand their work in other media. Through lectures, slides and class discussion, this course will explore this phenomenon in the works of Ellsworth Kelly, Eva Hesse, Donald Judd, Sol LeWitt and other well-known sculptors and painters. We will examine color snapshots, Polaroids, large black-and-white prints and photo montages to learn how photography played a key role in the creative process for these artists. | Lecture + Q&A.
