OLLI has reserved seats together in the front of the mezzanine on the left side of the theater (facing the stage), offering an excellent vantage point to enjoy the performance as a group.
As a special bonus, participants can deepen the experience with an online preview led by opera educator Margie Satinsky before the performance. In this engaging session, Margie will introduce the life of composer Georges Bizet, explore the traditions of French opera and opéra comique, and guide participants through highlights of the score. You'll gain historical, musical, and cultural insights that will enrich your appreciation of this timeless work before the curtain rises.
Margie has been teaching opera appreciation courses since 2012 for OLLI at Duke and other lifelong learning programs. She serves as president and co-founder of the Triangle Wagner Society and is known for making opera accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for both newcomers and longtime enthusiasts.
