Course Description

IN PERSON: Chinese brush painting attempts to capture the essence or spirit of its subject. In this hands-on art course, we will focus on landscapes. Students will learn how to paint various aspects of landscapes including mountains, rivers, trees and figures. Each person will complete a beautiful painting in one or two classes, while practicing basic brush painting techniques. This course is for both experienced and beginning students.. | Active Skill Learning.

Required supplies/fee:

Students will purchase materials from the instructor and/or independently for a total estimated cost of $35-$40. 
Required materials:
  • a pad of newsprint and a roll of rice paper
  • small bottle of black ink
  • set of Chinese brush painting color or water color
  • small dish to hold the ink and a small plastic container to hold water
  • medium sized and small sized brushes

The instructor has good quality brushes and rice paper from China that the students may purchase, if desired.
