IN PERSON: This workshop-style course is designed to give participants the opportunity to discover the joy of designing, hand-building, and decorating pottery clay pieces. Participants will construct forms using pinching, coiling, and slab techniques. Textures and decoration will be added using a wide range of tools, including stamps designed and made in class. We will be working on multiple pieces throughout the classes to allow time for drying and firing. Participants will take away finished pottery pieces such as tiles, trivets, pinch pots, beads, pendants, small houses, and other 3-D forms. Porcelain clay will be used in our projects for its smooth texture and luscious fired appearance. The materials fee will cover all clay, color slips, oxide washes, tools used during the class, and bisque and cone 6 glaze firings. | Active Skill Learning.
