IN PERSON: Imagine your personal story as a photograph. Where would you crop it? What parts might you enlarge? In this course, we will bring your story into focus. This can be a memoir piece that you have been wanting to write or a piece you've been working on for some time. We may also do short in-class writing exercises. The instructor will make suggestions for writing topics as well. We will slow the writing process down, spending time on imagery, dialogue, and the general flow of the story. The more drafts you write, the clearer the writing becomes. We will create an atmosphere where students feel comfortable sharing their work. Students will read their work aloud and allow time for the class to provide feedback. The instructor will provide suggestions and comments after we've discussed a student's piece in class. | Facilitated discussion.
Max enrollment: 12.
