IN PERSON: In light of the foreign policy actions of President Donald Trump's administration, does the United States remain a global hegemon, or must it adjust to an emerging multipolar world? If the latter, should it reduce its international security commitments? Should it slash its defense budget? Should it prioritize some regions over others? Should it seek to restore its soft power? Should it devolve some long-standing responsibilities to other states? These and other questions will be raised and examined in this discussion-based course. Students are expected to read approximately 25 pages each week and actively participate in class discussions. | Facilitated discussion.
