Course Description

ONLINE: In this course, students explore journal writing as a way to reflect on, observe, and express their personal experiences. Through guided prompts and open-ended writing, participants will craft entries that capture their memories, thoughts, and moments in vivid detail. Writing may take any of many tones—serious, humorous, reflective, poetic, or conversational—while helping each writer discover and develop their own voice. Short readings will introduce techniques and ideas that will strengthen students' emotional awareness and inspire their writing. These selections will serve as starting points for discussion and journal prompts. Participants will practice both prompted and free-form entries, exploring memory, description, and streams of thought. If time allows, students may share selected pieces for supportive feedback and discussion. The course is designed to help students build their confidence, creativity, and skill in personal journal writing. | Facilitated discussion.
