IN PERSON: This updated course will begin with a brief overview of medicine's history and an introduction to medical terminology. Then we will learn about the human body: its anatomy and physiology, and some diseases associated with specific organ systems. At the end of the course, students will have a better understanding of the human body and its functions. Questions are encouraged during and after the lecture. And we will have fun! No scientific background is required. These recommended books are great but not required: "The Anatomy Coloring Book"; "The Doctor Stories," by William Carlos Williams, a fun read; and anything by Lewis Thomas is worthwhile. | Lecture + Q&A.
